The foreshadowing doesn't make the ending better. Just because it was foreshadowed doesn't make it believable. I could write a character who plays videogames all day, forshadow that he'll oneday turn into batman three times, and then write a scene where he suddenly pauses his game and says to himself "huh, I think I wanna be batman now. I brought this up to friends, who have responded that this was "foreshadowed" but a lot of in past seasons, most of them referenced literally in the voices we heard over Dannys crazy-face in the episode recap before the finale.īut foreshadowing isnt development. Weirdly, everyone remembered that Tyrion was literally a war criminal and betrayed his queen, but Grey Worm let him speak and choose their new King, which seemed very strange.

Sansa breaking off from the Seven Kingdoms immediately after multiple wars and the worst winter in history was a stupid decision that I can't see her making, and Yara just accepting that and staying loyal to the crown was even worse.ĭrogon burning the Iron Throne instead of Jon was meant to be this great scene where the One Ring is destroyed, yet because of what had happened literally seconds earlier it just comes off as stupid.

She was also the perfect person to kill both Cersei or Dany with literally no consequences for the heroes, yet, when the time came, nothing.īran shouldn't be King, but then again, his character has no point in this season anyway, so whatever. Jon's entire character this season could be summed up as "I don't want it(the throne)" and him going back to the Night's watch after literally murdering the queen with no consequences what terribly stupid.Īrya literally turned away from a life of revenge because "don't turn out like me", ignoring the fact that she's already baked several people into pies and poisoned an entire house. Her death would've been more significant if she'd actually been given the development required to become the mad queen, instead of just getting angry at bells. Made me regret all the time I wasted watching the series.ĭaenerys' entire character went from someone who cared about her people, who actually wanted to help the people of Westeros, who cared about the peasant people, to within a few episodes a homicidal maniac for no reason.
